I was born and raised in Birmingham, England. Soccer has always been the love of my life (along with Aston Villa FC). I began playing at six, mostly in goal but also playing forward. As a teen I played in the Coronation Youth and Senior Leagues and had trials at Walsall FC. I became an apprentice tool-and-die maker, a trade I continued after emigrating to Canada in 1974 with my wife and two daughters. It took a couple of years to find a team in the GTA, but I eventually succeeded and divided my time for some years between playing and coaching both daughters at various levels. Around 70, I figured my playing days were coming to an end until I heard about Oakville Wild Walkers in 2017. Except for COVID, I have played walking soccer ever since and now I’m honoured to play for Canada at Spain 2025.
